Organic skin care company Raw Gaia announces the cruelty-free certification of its entire product range, awarded by the British Union for the Abolition of Vivisection (BUAV). Well-known for its “leaping bunny” logo, BUAV’s certification is an internationally recognised guarantee that a product and its ingredients have not been tested on animals.
To achieve cruelty-free certification, a company must comply with the non animal-testing policy set by the Humane Cosmetics Standard and pass an independent audit that encompasses its entire supply chain. The certification thus ensures that neither the products nor any ingredients from the company’s suppliers have been tested on animals.
Joint Managing Director Lisa Lennon comments, “We are delighted to have achieved BUAV’s certification. The cruelty-free guarantee is very much in line with Raw Gaia’s organic, vegan and truly natural ethical stance. It will also help to reassure customers that we are serious in our commitment to animal well-being.”
Joint Managing Director Hector Bolanos adds, “Our products have always been vegan and cruelty-free. Yet, displaying the ‘leaping bunny’ logo on our products will make it easier for new customers to appreciate our ethical stance. We care about animals, so we are very proud of BUAV’s certification.”
Notes for editors:
Raw Gaia is currently the only company in the world producing a full range of living skin care products. These are hand-made using only organic, vegan and unheated ingredients, free of any chemicals, through a low temperature process. This offers two advantages over traditional high-temperature methods: it ensures that all the natural nutrients beneficial to skin are retained and avoids the creation of toxic compounds.
