Organic Sweet Orange Essential Oil

Sweet orange is a very good skin tonic. Its sweating action helps to remove built up toxins that have congested in the skin and is ideal for dry skin and dermatitis.

Moreover, sweet orange helps with the formation of collagen, which is needed to aid skin cell growth and the repair of tissues. It is also said to improve the tone of the skin.

This oil has beneficial calming properties, for the stomach and is especially helpful with calming the nerves. Sweet orange may also help with physical ailments such as diarrhoea, constipation and poor digestion.

It has a relaxing effect therefore helping to dispel tension and stress, while at the same time promoting a more positive outlook.

You can use this essential oil in different ways

In the bath: For a wonderfully relaxing experience at the end of a busy day, just add 6 - 8 drops of essential oil to a warm bath. Mix the water well before getting in.

In an oil burner: A good way of using essential oils is to vaporise them, for example by using an oil burner. To use an oil burner, fill the bowl at the top of the burner with water and place 6-10 drops of essential oil in the water. Then place a lighted tea light underneath the bowl. The water and essential oils evaporate as steam, letting the aroma of the essential oils fill the room.

For massage: Massage is also a very good method of application because the skin, as our largest organ, readily absorbs the essential oil into the bloodstream. You can use one or up to four essential oils according to your particular needs and add them to a cold-pressed oil, in a dilution of 5 drops of essential oil to 10ml of carrier oil. If you have particularly sensitive skin, use only 3 drops.

Precautions: Prolonged use and high dosage may cause irritation for those with sensitive skin. During pregnancy, it is extremely important to be cautious about what you eat and put on your body. It is best to err on the side of caution and we therefore recommend avoiding all products containing essential oils during the first three months.
